Dr. Whitney Casares is a board-certified pediatrician, author, keynote speaker, and founder of Modern Mommy Doc and Raising Body Confident Kids, platforms devoted to helping parents raise emotionally resilient, body-confident children while reclaiming their own well-being in the process. A physician who blends evidence, empathy, and lived experience as a working mom, Dr. Whitney has become a trusted national voice for families trying to navigate real health.

She earned her undergraduate degree in journalism from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, before pursuing her Masters of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley, where she focused on maternal and child health. She completed medical school at the University of Vermont and her pediatrics residency at Stanford University, training at the intersection of high-quality medicine and compassionate, family-centered care.

Dr. Whitney spent 12 years in private practice before transitioning to a national telehealth role. Today, she cares for patients across the country through Maven Clinic, where she supports families with accessible, evidence-based pediatric guidance tailored to real life.

Her most recent book, My One-of-a-Kind Body, published by the American Academy of Pediatrics, helps kids ages 7–12 understand how their bodies work and why every body deserves respect, curiosity, and care. Through science-backed explanations, relatable storytelling, and practical activities, she offers families a fresh, uplifting way to talk about health rooted in confidence rather than shame. The book is part of her larger mission to dismantle diet culture, neutralize harmful beauty standards, and empower parents and kids to lead with compassion instead of comparison.

Dr. Whitney is also the author of Doing It All: Stop Over-Functioning and Become the Mom and Person You’re Meant to Be and The Working Mom Blueprint, both of which have helped thousands of women step out of overwhelm and into a more sustainable, joy-filled version of motherhood. Her work regularly appears in outlets such as The New York Times, NPR, Forbes, Fortune, and Business Insider.

In addition to her clinical and writing work, Dr. Whitney is a highly sought-after keynote speaker who partners with schools, healthcare organizations, corporations, and conferences nationwide. She also consults with top brands across the U.S., helping them communicate with families in a way that is evidence-based, inclusive, and deeply aligned with modern parent realities.

She lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband, two daughters, and their puppy Potato—her daily reminder that raising humans (and pets) requires equal parts science, humor, and heart.
